The Kaaba (الكعبة) is a cube-shaped building located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and is considered the holiest site in Islam. Muslims around the world face the Kaaba during prayers. The Kaaba is believed to have been built by Abraham and his son Ishmael, and it houses the Black Stone, a sacred relic said to have been given to Abraham by the angel Gabriel. The annual Hajj pilgrimage, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, culminates in circumambulating the Kaaba.
